The Dutarque-Guida House dates back to the 18th Century originating its construction in 1782. A French Huguenot planter, Lewis Dutarque, built this Row House as a residence but it was used as commercial offices from 1797 to 1890. An Italian immigrant, Giovanni Domenico Guida purchased the property and he and his descendants ran a grocery store in this location until 1960. The facade still retains the name at the top of the structure.
